An American public corporation founded on 23 May 1892 by George Eastman in partnership with Henry A. Strong, best known for bringing photographic film to a mass consumer market for the first time. Kodak dominated the film photography industry through most of the twentieth century, and its own engineer, Steven Sasson, built the first self-contained electronic digital camera at the company in 1975.
