The Walt Disney Company was founded on October 16, 1923 by brothers Walt and Roy Oliver Disney as the Disney Brothers Cartoon Studio, an animation studio that grew into one of the largest and best known companies in the world. It now operates the largest television and film studio in Hollywood, alongside streaming services including Disney+, Hulu and ESPN+, television networks including ABC, ESPN and the Disney Channel, theme parks worldwide, and production studios including Marvel Studios, Pixar and Lucasfilm; for its 2025 fiscal year it reported revenue of 94.4 billion US dollars and around 203,280 employees.
