Apple's own podcast directory and playback service, first supported inside iTunes 4.9 in June 2005 and released as a standalone mobile app on June 26, 2012. The app was pre-installed with iOS beginning in October 2014, embedding podcast access on hundreds of millions of devices and becoming one of the largest single drivers of podcasting's mainstream adoption.
